Want Euro luxury without the Euro price tag, the aptly named 2009-2014 Honda Accord Euro will fit that bill.
The 8th generation Honda Accord Euro, released in Australia in 2009, a subtle evolution of the previous model, it managed to combine performance, practicality, reliability and class that the Honda brand is renowned for.
While its traditional three-box styling may be a little conservative, it's definitely in keeping with its European counterparts, it may not be a full-on sports sedan, but its lines do suggest effortless highway cruising. With a well sorted 2.4 litre DOHC engine with VTEC producing 148kW @ 7000rpm and a peak torque figure of 234Nm @ 4300-4300rpm, it will do just that. 0 to 100km/h is taken care of in a respectable 7.8 seconds for the six-speed manual.
It's also very economical, with a combined fuel consumption cycle of just 8.9litres per 100 kilometres.
The Accord is also quite well kitted out, USB connectivity with iPod integration, Built-in Bluetooth, foldaway key and Trailer Stability Assist, Dual-zone Climate control, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an eight-speaker + two-tweeter audio system with six-CD stacker are all standard. Opt for the top tier Luxury Navi model and SAT NAV and 18" alloys are thrown into the mix.
Last but not least, the VTEC engines fitted to Honda's almost have a cult following in Japan. As a result, there are a broad range of aftermarket performance enhancements to make your Honda go harder if that's your bent. Just wait till the VTEC cuts in YO!
