Yet another reason for Australian performance car fans to lament the paucity of performance cars available here. To be fair, this Subie is an uber exclusive Japanese market only vehicle.
With only 400 being produced they'll be rare as hen's teeth. Doesn't stop me wanting one.
The Japanese really know how to eek out performance from relatively modest power outputs.

So what sets the S207 apart from the regular STI; now putting out 241kW, an increase in power of 14kW over the regular vehicle. Torque is up from 422Nm to 431Nm. For the track day junkies, adjustable damping is on offer and significantly the steering has been sharpened even further from what was already a fine road carver. With a steering ratio of just 11:1 it may be too sharp for some. The already excellent Brembo brakes are now also cross-drilled with six piston calipers up front and four piston units in the rear. The wheels on the S207 are BBS 19" black alloy. Sorely missed on the regular STI; Recaro racing seats are part of the S207 package.
The sprint to 100Kmh is down 4 tenths of a second, taking just 4.5 seconds. The Japanese really know how to eek out performance from relatively modest power outputs.
Of course no special edition is complete without "go fast" stripes and added aero kit. The car definitely ups the ante. Rex's are supposed to be all about the excess and you definitely get that. With black carbon fibre body highlights, deeper front chin and re-designed rear diffuser, it really looks the part.
To top it all off there's red piping on the grill and rear diffuser. That's gotta be good for another 10Kmh!
